Flexible
Drawing Extension Released for MagneForce Simulators

Date:
March 15, 2004
MagneForce Software Systems, Inc. releases a Flexible
Drawing extension to allow each of its simulators to handle arbitrary
machine geometries. Arbidraw is a package built into the AD level of
each of MagneForce’s simulators, GenAC, BLDC, BCPM and Indu. Arbidraw
allows a designer to modify an existing parameterized geometry module.
The designer can start with a basic shape (slot module) from the library
of parameterized designs and rotate copy to form either a portion or
the entire machine cross-section. Once this is accomplished design features
such as mounting ears, holes and the like can be added or modified as
necessary. A designer can also begin a design completely from scratch
from within Arbidraw. Upon drawing completion Arbidraw allows the designer
to view and modify the finite element mesh as necessary. The Arbidraw
geometry information is then read directly by the desired machine simulator
and the analysis continues as normal.
MagneForce Software Systems specializes in producing simulation software
for rotating electric machines using finite elements for magnetic field
calculations together with various time based techniques for circuit
simulations. This approach allows MagneForce to accurately compute all
harmonics and non-linearities whether they be magnetic, spatial or time
based.
